You have decided it is time to talk to a family law attorney. Sometimes that is the toughest decision to make. But now that you know you need or want legal advice, who do you hire? It is common to feel desperate to find an attorney immediately after coming to the conclusion that you need or want a lawyer, but do not make the mistake that so many others have made in hiring your attorney based solely on timing and convenience. You need to find the right attorney—-which is not necessarily the one whose office is conveniently located on your way home from work; the first one you see in the phonebook; the first one who actually speaks with you on the phone; or, the only one that agrees to meet with you today! You might get lucky using some of these methods, but it is much more likely that you will find yourself frustrated and dissatisfied with the outcome. Much of that frustration can be avoided by finding the right family law attorney to assist you from the beginning. The following are things to keep in mind (and some good questions to ask) when you are selecting a family law attorney:

1. It is personal! The attorney-client relationship is a personal relationship—maybe more so in family law than in any other area of the law. 2. Concentration on Family Law: If you needed a heart transplant, you would not go to an optometristand you wouldnt go to a general practitioner or family doctor,” either. You would go to a specialist—a cardiologist. The same is true with lawyers. Any attorney can claim to be competent to handle your divorce or help you with a custody case, etc., but you need someone whose practice is concentrated in family law. Find out the attorneys level of concentration on family law by asking the following questions:

What percentage of your practice is dedicated to family law?

How many cases have you had like mine? With my specific issues?

Are you a member of the local (city or state) family law section of the bar association?

Have you practiced in this particular county/court in the past?

3. Does your attorney have time for you? In your first meeting, if the attorney seems too busy” to give you 100% of his/her attention, does not take time to answer all of your questions, or just does not seem to be listening to you— keep looking! If you are still unsure of what the attorneys commitment to your case will be at the end of your initial consultation, ask the following questions:

How many cases are you actively working right now?

How many cases would you take at any given time? How many cases would you consider to be a full workload?”

Do you have a policy on returning phone calls/emails?

How often will you communicate with me?

Is it your policy to send me copies of all correspondence and/or documents you receive from the opposing counsel and/or the court?

4. Piranha or Peacemaker? Ok, so piranha is a bit extremebut the idea is very important.

Many clients are very angry when they first meet with family law attorneys, and they might believe that they need a real fighter” on their side who will promise to legally punish” the opposing party. If that is what you believe you need or want, you can certainly find a piranha-type attorney” who will infuse more conflict into your case and will refuse to resolve even the simplest of issues without a battle. If you think that is the type of attorney you want to represent you, consider the following:

The only people who win in high-conflict cases are the attorneysthe more you fight with your spouse, the more money the attorneys make.

Even though you might have to compromise to reach an agreement, you are in control of your future. You can determine what circumstances you can live with.” Do you really want your future (and the future of your family and your children) to be determined by a judge who only has a few minutes to hear your life story before making a ruling?

The negativity that is created during family law cases will make it extremely difficult to have any future dealings and involvement with the other party after the case is over.

Civility cannot be underrated.

If you have children, you have no excuse! Minimize the conflict in all ways possible for their benefit.

5. Lets talk fees: Even though it might be an uncomfortable topic, it is absolutely necessary that you talk to the attorney about fees. You should have a fee agreement in writing from your attorney explaining in detail how the representation is going to work, how you will be billed, etc. If you do not understand something about the fee agreement, ask! Remember, this is your money! You have every right to understand completely how you are agreeing to spend it! If you have concerns about the written fee agreement or find that it is not specific or clear, be sure to ask the following questions, at a minimum:

What is your hourly rate?

What is the minimum time increment for recording your time?

Will there be any other people in the firm that will be billing time on my case?

What are the billable rates of any others that could potentially be working on my case?

How often will I receive an invoice?

If I have a question about an invoice, to whom should I direct my question?

What methods of payment do you accept (i.e., credit cards, etc.)?

What can I do to help keep my fees to a minimum?

How much is my retainer? And, when my retainer is gone, what is your policy for additional payments after the retainer is gone?

But the question: “How can I become wealthy using the Law of Attraction?” is in many ways the wrong question. The thing that people really want is to become happy and at peace with the world, with a sense of feeling surrounded by love and affection and care, and to be in perfect health. If you think about it, that is probably what you want, just the same as everybody else.

So the question that people really should be asking is “How can I become happy, at peace, in a loving environment, with perfect health, using the Law of Attraction?”

If we begin from this question, which embodies an approach to the Law of Attraction that is holistic, involving one’s whole self rather than just the money aspect, we will have far more success with it. This is because the wealth will naturally be attracted to you as an integral part of the whole package.

If this is true, why then do people ask only for wealth and not the other desirable things we mentioned above? Because we tend to believe, as a result of our conditioning from a very young age onwards, that if we could only have wealth and money first, then happiness, peace, and contentment would follow naturally. This, however, is a false assumption.

There is a very large body of well-documented evidence to show that the acquisition of wealth does not necessarily lead to happiness. In fact, in some cases, as for example with people who suddenly win huge sums in the lottery, it can actually be a curse.

The desire for “wealth first, happiness follows” stems from a wish to have security. People believe that a huge bank balance will provide that security, which will enable them to relax, not have to get up every morning and drag themselves to work, and have time to get on with being happy. But it does not work like that.

Quite apart from the fact that, in recent times, fortunes that hitherto seemed secure, have been wiped out by recessions and credit crunches, vast wealth does not free you from worry and anxiety. What you need is not security, but something else of infinitely greater value.

So here is the secret.

Reaching a state of being happy and at peace, free from worry and anxiety, is something that you can achieve right now, in this very moment. You need to be happy now. You need to start from where you are now. If you wait until everything is right, you will never get started. Whatever your financial or health situation is now, that is your starting point.

You need to understand that the Law of Attraction is working all the time, in everything and everywhere. You can never escape from it, and it can never be switched off. You need to also understand that the universe loves you, and desires to bring you everything that you wish for. If you do not acknowledge these facts, your progress with using the Law of Attraction may well turn out to be very slow.

If you acknowledge those facts, however, you are well on the way. You will begin to realize that the things that make you unhappy are of two types. Your regrets over things that happened in the past, and your anxieties over what may happen in the future. These are not real, they are merely dreams. You do not need to allow them to control you. You can change the dreams you have.

Concentrate your attention on the present moment, the here and the now, and you will begin to see that in this moment, you are happy and at peace. In this moment, the universe is positively inundating you with a vast wealth of wonderful gifts and experiences. Enjoy the moment.

Then, as you become aware that this moment continues, and is always, eternally, with you, then you can begin to see how you can be eternally happy and at peace, and surrounded by love. Then you are free to dream about whatever you want, and attract the life of your most beautiful dreams. This is the right way to use the Law of Attraction. It is how the Law of Attraction works.

When you are fully aware of all this, then all the other things will follow. Including the wealth? Yes, including the wealth.

The idea for a bill is devised and put up in a written form. A member of Congress needs to officially introduce the bill in the Congress. Congress representatives are said to sponsor the bills they put up. They seek support to form a majority. On the introduction of a bill, it is handed over to a committee. The committee members raise questions about the necessity of the bill and its validity. The members vote in favor of or against the bill proposed. Issues and concerns put up by the committee members may lead to amendments in the bill. In this case, the committee may request for a clean bill that incorporates the proposed amendments. The committee prepares a written report about the bill.

If the bill does not obtain a majority vote in the committee, it fails. However, in case the committee passes it, it is put before the House along with the committee report. Bills are placed on one of the House Calendars.

A calendar is a list of bills related to a particular topic. The Union Calendar is a list of bills that address money. These bills can be classified as bills that draw revenue. A House Calendar is a list of public bills that do not address money. The Private Calendar consists of private bills to be considered by the House. The list of bills that are selected by the Speaker of the House for consideration and debate constitutes The Corrections Calendar.

The Committee of The Whole includes all the members of the House. All the measures of the Union Calendar have to be considered by the Committee of The Whole. This committee can debate and suggest amendments to the bill but cannot pass it. The sponsoring committee guides the debate. It allots time for those who are for or against the passing of the bill to come up with their opinions that support their view. The bill goes back to the House for the final vote.

If a bill is passed it is sent to the other Chamber. Then it is passed on to a Conference Committee that is made up of senior members from each house. It contains members who have initially dealt with the bill. This committee prepares a report and sends it to the Chamber.

From here the bill is sent to the President. For the bill to become a law, the President has to sign it within ten days. In case the President does not sign the bill within the predetermined period, but the Congress is in session, the bill becomes a law. There may develop a situation wherein the Congress is adjourned within ten days and the President has not signed the bill. Its outcome will be in the bill not becoming a law. In the other case, the bill receives a Presidential veto. It is then sent back to the Congress. If both the chambers override the Presidential veto, the bill becomes a law. Yes, a bill becomes a law!

Three steps to our debt solutions

We actually have two solutions – I was given a small amount of money to settle some of the things we had outstanding with. But before I did that, I needed advice. 1. Allow Yourself To Receive

When a child asks a question then asks Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Well, if the child goes on and on asking, you cant even give an answer, right?

Well, its the same thing with your mind. If the only thing your mind is doing is transmit, transmit, transmit, the universe which is trying to respond cant give you a single thing because youre not allowing yourself to receive!

So, have the confidence in yourself and stop exhausting yourself by running around person to person begging for riches, and then wondering why nobody is dropping anything into your cup. (Hint: Its because youre running away too fast for them before they can even reach for their wallets).

Just think of your desires and leave it out there, go away, and trust that your cup will be filled with whatever it is you asked for. when the time is right.

2. Be Patient With Yourself

Receiving takes time.

Sadly, many people give up too soon not realising they are just a couple of steps away from the finish line because theyve decided that if its not working by now, its never going to work at all. Even worse are those who throw in more and more energy because they think that with more resources, the results will come faster.

This is like expecting 9 mothers to conceive and deliver a baby in 1 month.
You cant bake a cake in half the time by doubling the temperature can you? That cake would be burnt to a cinder!

In simple terms: Everything in this world has a natural development time, and this fact will not change no matter what resources you throw at it.

So relax and be patient. Remember that you too, as part of the universe, are also governed by the laws of the universe, and you cannot change the natural development time.

If you remember this, you will less likely work yourself up into frustration, or worse, push yourself into a downward spiral of negativity.

3. Support and Educate Yourself

Like the child who is learning how to walk, you need support. You also need guidance on how to do it, and also the role models to look up to.

Many people give up because they think that The Secret has that magic answer. Well, its NOT. The Secret is just a small portion. It was never intended, and has never been, the whole answer. So what is beyond the Secret?

Coming to the conclusion that the Law of Attraction doesnt work when all you ever did to educate yourself was watch The Secret 19 times (without considering making any lifestyle changes the habits of other areas of your life) is like coming to the conclusion that exercising is not an effective way to lose weight because all you did is run on the treadmill for 2 hours a day (but youre still stuffing yourself with fried foods and cheesecakes).
